Renmore (An Rinn Mhór, meaning "Big Point") is a suburb of Galway City, Ireland, situated approximately 2 km to the east of the city. St Oliver Plunkett Church is located beside the primary school. Lough Atalia lies between Renmore and the city, which can be crossed using the public path beside the railway line (widely known as 'the line'). The primary school in Renmore is widely called Scoil Chaitriona the area also has an all Irish school named Gaelscoil Dara.
Renmore is one of the widest suburbs of Galway city, running east along the coast and south of Dublin Road, from the shore of Lough Atalia on its west side to Lurgan Park on its east. The area houses approximately 5,000 people and includes Ballyloughaun beach, which also has camping facilities.
Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology is one of the larger employers in the area.
Renmore is also home to Dún Uí Mhaoilíosa (Mellow's Fort), a base of the Irish Army's Southern Brigade. The barracks – called "Renmore Barracks" under British rule when it was base to the Connaught Rangers and still widely known as such – is the base of the 1st Infantry Battalion and is located at the end of Renmore Road. The Department of Defence is also based in the area.There is also a private hospital called the Bon Secours.

Monivea (Irish: Muine Mheá) is a village in County Galway, Ireland. It is located approximately 30 km from Galway City and 9 km from Athenry. 
It was formerly part of the kingdom of the Soghain of Connacht. Monivea is known for its forest, Monivea Castle which now lies in partial ruins, and a well-preserved mausoleum. The mausoleum and castle were built by the Ffrench family, one of the "Tribes of Galway", who were also responsible for the distinctive layout of the greens in the centre of the village, which were used as drying stations for the linen (known as flax) of local industries. The forest, mausoleum and castle were left to the State by the last Ffrench, and the forest is now held by Coillte.
There are two small grocery shops one with a petrol station, a butcher shop, four pubs, a Garda station, a post office, a playground, a church in Ryehill, and Monivea National School.

Ballybrittas (Irish: Baile Briotáis, meaning "town of the palisade") is a small village in the northeast of County Laois, Ireland situated on the R445 about 5 km SW of Monasterevin, County Kildare. Formerly on the N7 Dublin - Limerick road, the village is now bypassed by the M7 motorway.

County Galway ( GAWL-way; Irish: Contae na Gaillimhe) is a county in Ireland. It is in the West of Ireland, taking up the south of the province of Connacht.
There are several Irish-speaking areas in the west of the county. The traditional county includes, and is named for, the city of Galway, but the city and county now have separate local authorities: Galway City Council administers the urban area, while the rest of the county is administered by Galway County Council.
The population of the county was 258,058 at the 2016 census.

Bohermore (Irish: An Bóthar Mór, meaning "The Big Road") is an area of Galway, Ireland. It got this name as it was the main road into Galway City from the east in medieval times.
There is a large cemetery located in Bohermore known as the "New Cemetery", which contains two mortuary chapels, one Catholic and the other Protestant. People buried there include the Irish-language writer and journalist Pádraic Ó Conaire (1882-1928), Lord Haw Haw (William Joyce) (1906-1946), an Irish-American who broadcast Nazi propaganda from Germany during World War II, and Lady Gregory (1852-1932), a founding member of the Irish Literary Theatre movement, who hosted a literary and artistic salon in her house at Coole Park, in rural south Galway.
