Ringsend (Irish: An Rinn) is a southside inner suburb of Dublin, Ireland. It is located on the south bank of the River Liffey and east of the River Dodder, about two kilometres east of the city centre. It is the southern terminus of the East Link Toll Bridge. Areas included in Ringsend are the south side of the Dublin Docklands, and at the west end is the area of South Lotts and part of the Grand Canal Dock area. Neighbouring areas include Irishtown, Sandymount and the Beggars Bush part of Ballsbridge to the south, and the city centre to the west.  A key feature of the area is the chimneys of Poolbeg power station.
Formerly the point where ships arriving from across the Irish Sea would dock, Ringsend went into decline in the 19th and 20th centuries, when the shipping moved to other locations, although there is still some container shipping.

Castleknock (Irish: Caisleán Cnucha, meaning "Cnucha's Castle") is an affluent suburb of Dublin, centred on a village in Fingal, Ireland. It is located 8 km (5 mi) west of the centre of Dublin.
In addition to the suburb, the name "Castleknock" also refers to older units of land division: a townland, a civil parish and a barony.

Ashtown (Irish: Baile an Áisigh) is a small suburb of Dublin, Ireland.  It is also a townland in the civil parish of Castleknock and falls largely into the postal districts of Dublin 15, with some addresses falling into the Dublin 7 postal district.
Ashtown is bounded roughly by the townlands of Castleknock to the west.  It is situated by the Royal Canal, near the Navan Road, which some addresses being named off Navan Road.  The Phoenix Park is also nearby, its Ashtown Gate entrance about 500 metres south of the railway station. The townland's 278 acres are within Dublin City whereas Castleknock is in Fingal. The suburb had a population of 13,209 inhabitants as reported in the 2016 census.Teagasc has a food research centre at Ashtown.

County Dublin (Irish: Contae Bhaile Átha Cliath or Contae Átha Cliath) is one of the thirty-two traditional counties of Ireland. Prior to 1994 it was also an administrative county covering the whole county outside of Dublin City Council. In 1994, as part of a reorganisation of local government within Dublin the boundaries of Dublin City were redrawn, Dublin County Council was abolished and three new administrative county councils were established: Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown, Fingal and South Dublin.
While it is no longer used as an administrative division for local government, it retains a strong identity in popular culture. It is in the province of Leinster, and is named after the city of Dublin, the capital city of Ireland. County Dublin was one of the first parts of Ireland to be shired by John, King of England following the Norman invasion of Ireland. 
According to the 2016 census, the total population of County Dublin was 1,345,402, approximately 27% of the Republic of Ireland's population. The county is a NUTS 3 region, and is part of the NUTS 2 region of Eastern and Midland.

Swords (Irish: Sord [sˠoːɾˠd̪ˠ] or Sord Cholmcille) is the county town of Fingal and a large suburban town on the Northside of Dublin.  Lying ten kilometres north of the city centre, on the Ward River, and reputedly founded around 560 A.D., it features a restored medieval castle, a holy well from which it takes its name, a round tower and a Norman tower.  Near to Dublin Airport, Swords is also home to one of the Dublin region's larger shopping centres, The Pavilions, several other retail facilities and a range of industries.  Suburban housing estates lie around the town centre, with several parks and many schools and sporting facilities.
The name "Swords" is also applicable to a townland, to the civil parish, within the historic County Dublin, and to the local electoral area.
