Arbour Hill (Irish: Cnoc an Arbhair) is an inner city area of Dublin, on the Northside of the River Liffey, in the Dublin 7 postal district.  Arbour Hill, the road of the same name, runs west from Blackhall Place in Stoneybatter, and separates Collins Barracks, now part of the National Museum of Ireland, to the south from Arbour Hill Prison to the north, whose graveyard includes the burial plot of the signatories of the Easter Proclamation that began the 1916 Rising. 
The Irish composer Vincent Kennedy set a movement entitled "Arbour Hill" as part of his commissioned Symphonic work "IRISHMEN AND IRISHWOMEN" in 1916. The movement is a moving tribute to the 1916 signatories and leaders buried at Arbour Hill graveyard.

While primarily residential, Glasnevin is also home to the National Botanic Gardens, national meteorological office and a range of other State bodies, and Dublin City University has its main campus and other facilities in and near the area.
Glasnevin is also a civil parish in the ancient barony of Coolock.

County Dublin (Irish: Contae Bhaile Átha Cliath or Contae Átha Cliath) is one of the thirty-two traditional counties of Ireland. Prior to 1994 it was also an administrative county covering the whole county outside of Dublin City Council. In 1994, as part of a reorganisation of local government within Dublin the boundaries of Dublin City were redrawn, Dublin County Council was abolished and three new administrative county councils were established: Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown, Fingal and South Dublin.

Firhouse (Irish: Teach na Giúise) is an outer suburb of Dublin, in the jurisdiction of South Dublin, Ireland, developed from what was historically a small rural village by the River Dodder, with a second settlement, Upper Fir-house, nearby.  It is just outside the M50 orbital motorway, and in the postal district of Dublin 24 (eircode routing key D24), and is adjacent to Knocklyon (with which it shares a townland) and close to both Tallaght and Templeogue. In the historic divisions of local administration, Firhouse is in the civil parish of Tallaght and the barony of Uppercross.
